Relationship between delta and Duty

 

Let a crop has a base period of B days and water is applied continuously in the field at the rate of 1 m3/sec. Then total volume applied in the field is

 

V= B x 24 x 60 x 60 m3 = 86400 B m3

 

Let area of the land is DHa = 104 Dm2

Then, total depth of the water applied = Volume/area = 86400/10000 = 8.64 Bm/D

 

So, Delta (Δ) = 8.64 Bm/D  or 864 Bcm/D
