a. Appearance of growth:
- Shoot and leaf wilting, yellowing of leaves, dropping of leaves, rolling of leaves.
b. Leaf temperature:
- Infra-red thermometer installed on leaf.
c. Leaf potential:
- The lesser the pressure to release water, the more frequent the irrigation should be done.
- Meteorological indicators:
- Irrigation can be scheduled to a crop if evapotranspiration and depletion in the root zone known.
