• It is rapidly evolving and flourishing fields of veterinary medicine.
• ‘Forensic’ simply implies that information from a discipline or technique is being applied in a legal setting.
• Broad term ‘ forensic medicine’ is used to encompass all aspects of forensic work of medical nature. In past, this term was used interchangeably used with ‘forensic pathology’.
• Forensic pathology in present situation is understood as the branch of forensic medicine that deals with death investigation.
