Advantages of biogas/some salient features of biogas

1. For lighting and cooking purpose.
2. It provides readily available manure for the crops.
3. Deforestation can be reduced at the same time we can reduce the concentration of CO2 in atmosphere. Forest was 64% at 1964 while it is reduced to 25% due to deforestation, thus more landsides, erosion and become more desertification. These are reduced by biogas.
4. Biogas can also be used for running diesel and petrol engine, thus reduction in the import of petroleum product.
5. Flame color is blue so no black coloration on utensils and room.
6. Can save time for cooking.
7. Toilet can be diverted into Gobar-gas tank, so toilet construction expenditure can be reduced.
8. There will be green and clean environment around the house.
9. Biogas slurry have more amount of nutrients than FYM, so biogas slurry can increase 10-20% more production. However, there is somewhat problem of handling of slurry and chance to expose in sunlight, the nutrient is volatilized or washed up by rainwater.
10. It eliminates smoke; thus, its use can reduce the diseases of chest and eyes thus, can improve the health of houses wives.
11. Firewood collection time can be saved by woman.

13. Reduces the content of CO2 thus protect ozone layer, greenhouse effect, climate change, acid rain, depletion of flora and fauna.
14. It provides rural sanitation and hygienic condition as it utilizes animal dung, human excreta and other agricultural waste.
