Types of incubation
a) Natural incubation:
- Egg is hatched with the help of broody hen.
- Have high % of success.
b) Artificial incubation:
i) Forced-air incubator:
- Use of Fans to spread warm air all over the air chamber.
- Allow large no. of eggs to be included at the same time.
- 82-880 F for egg setting and 940F for hatching.
ii) Still-Air incubator:
- Has no air holes.
- Harder and trickier to use.
iii) Conventional incubator:
- Relies on ventilation holes found at top, side and bottom of the incubator.
- With these holes, warm air rises and cold air pull in.
