Types of incubation

a) Natural incubation:

  • Egg is hatched with the help of broody hen.
  • Have high % of success.

b) Artificial incubation:

i) Forced-air incubator:

  • Use of Fans to spread warm air all over the air chamber.
  • Allow large no. of eggs to be included at the same time.
  • 82-880 F for egg setting and 940F for hatching.

ii) Still-Air incubator:

  • Has no air holes.
  • Harder and trickier to use.

iii) Conventional incubator:

  • Relies on ventilation holes found at top, side and bottom of the incubator.
