Composition of urine

  • 95% water
  • 5% waste products
  • Organic and inorganic components

Organic: urea, uric acid, amino acid, creatinine, etc

Inorganic: Na+, K+, Cl, HCO3, etc

 

 

# Abnormal types of urine

  • Polyuria: abnormal condition of having large amount of urine due to diabetes.
  • Proteinuria : high protein contents in urine
  • Glycosuria : high glucose content in urine
  • Hematuria : red blood cells in urine
