Growing of Chrysanthemum in Pots

➢ It is grown in pots to decorate verandah, window, gardens and to create colorful islands in the lawn, which provides great pleasure. Pot mixture includes Garden soil – 3 parts, Sand – 1 part, Leaf mould – 1 part and FYM – 1 part.

➢ Pots are filled by putting concave side of 3-5 pieces of crocks over the drain hole.

➢ For pot growing, plants are propagated by root sucker or terminal cutting (Preferred much) at mid or end of July in the 10 cm size pot and 15 and 25 cm in September.

➢ Urea should not apply, which cause phytotoxicity but Cakes and super phosphate is beneficial.

 

Growing for Loose Flowers

➢ The rooted cuttings are transplanted at 30 x 20 cm in the month of July and in the evening hours of the day.

➢ 1600 kg CAN/ha in 3 split doses at the interval of one month of July and in the evening hours of the day.

➢ Flowering will be in November if planted in the month of July and one continuous for 6 weeks.
