The concept of biodiversity conservation:
a) Save it:
- The save it step in conservation is the first and most important to control irreversible process of extinction of natural populations and species.
- Establishment of protected areas has been the most important step to save ecosystem, species and genetic diversity.
b) Know what it is:
- the crucial factor in the use of the biodiversity is the inventory of genetic resources of the country. A great diversity of flora and fauna of Nepal has attracted scientists from different parts of world.
c) Use it sustainably:
- Protected areas are established to conserve biodiversity of the area.
- For achieving this obvious restriction are put on the potential economic use of biodiversity.
- However, to secure long term existence of the national parks the local populations and the society have to achieve economic benefit from the protected areas without destroying the ecosystem.
