Role of Yak and Nak in livelihood support:
- Yak and nak provides milk and meat for human consumption.
- Castrated yak are used ass pack animal and could carry upto 120kg.
- Skin is used for making bags and sacks.
- Fibres are used for making ropes and radi.
- Yak steak (dried yak meat) is quite popular among the tourist.
- Products like cheese help to raise the living standard of people.
Role of chauri in livelihood support:
- Milk production capability is more than yak.
- Milk is used for cheese production.
- Major products are cheese, churpi, ghee, skin. Tail switch.
- Ghee exported to Tibet and chhurpi to india.
- Male chauries and old unproductive are exported to Tibet for meat purpose.
Role of sheep in livelihood support
- Reared for wool, meat, pack, manure and milk.
- Total sheep meat and wool production in 2072/073 is 2684 Mt. and 588384 kg respectively.
- Native wool is used for making radhi, pakhi and woolen products for local consumption.
- Wool obtained from Bhyanglung goat is used for carpet preparation.

- Total chevon production in the year 2072/073 is 65583 Mt.
- Used for milk pack and manure.
- Used for pashmina making.
