  • High value medicinal or aromatic plants are not only conserved to maintain bio-diversity and natural resources but they can provide a source of income to rural people.
  • Leaves, fruit or bark of HVC can be collected and sold.
  • Eg: Seed production, Broom grass

 

 

Factors of low productivity of HVC

  • Use of low productive cultivars seedlings and root stocks
  • Poor shallow soil with low WHC.
  • Lack of irrigation facilities.
  • Lack of basic infrastructures.
  • Disease pests
