Planting, soil and water management
- Depending upon planting distance, spot or point is marked in the field
- Appropriate pit size ranging from 30-60 cm2 depending upon fruit species is dug out
- While digging pit upper half portion soil is kept on left side and the bottom half soil is kept in another side
- The pit is exposed to sun at least for 15 days after digging which helps to facilitates killing of harmful microbes
- The pit is filled with upper half portion soil mixing with farm yard manure, adding recommended insecticides
- The pit is filled 5 cm high above the ground and marked with the peg in the center of the pit
- Pit should be dug out in summer month if planting is in rainy month and if panting is in February and March pit should be prepared in winter
- Planting time for evergreen fruit is before or after rainy season, for deciduous fruit planting time is February-March
