Transfer RNA (tRNA)

• It is also called soluble RNA made up of 75 nucleotides.
• It carries amino acids to the site of protein synthesis.
• It is synthesized in single stranded form but due to hydrogen bond, it changes into clobe leaf like structure.
• It consists of 5 arms:

a) Acceptor arm

b) D arm

c) Anticodon arm

d) TΨC arm

e) variable arm

• Function of anticodon loop is to base pair with appropriate complementary codon in mRNA.
• Other loop is concerned with binding of tRNA to ribosome.
