About Lesson
Introduction
- Enzyme are biomolecule either protein or RNA that catalyze a specific chemical reaction.
- Don’t affect the equilibrium of reaction but enhance the rate of reaction by providing a reaction path with lower activation energy.
Terminologies
- Apoenzyme : Protein part of enzyme
- Cofactor: Organic or inorganic molecule that apoenzyme requires for the activity.
- Prosthetic group: Similar to cofactor and is tightly bound to an apoenzyme.
- Isoenzyme : Enzyme that catalyze the same type
