Isolated footing or pad foundation
- It is supported by one pillar or one wall.
- A wall footing is continuous stripe either flat or straight, which distributes load of wall on the soil.
- Single column is commonly used where the loads on column are small and columns are not closely spaced. They may be square, circular or any other shape.
Features of pad foundation
- It is common type of foundation in Nepal.
- It is suitable for almost all type of soils for small size buildings.
- Each column rest on a single pad.
- The pad balances the vertical and horizontal loads.
