Rice hispa (Dicladispa armigera, Chysomelidae Coleopteran)

Identification
- Adult: Long spine on prothorax and elytra ,10 spine along lateral margin and 9 dorsal spin,Female scrape the tender portion of leaf epidermis and deposite
- Grub :Legless, creamy white , inside the leaf tissue
- Egg: Tip portion of leaves ,inside the leaves.
Life cycle
On hatching young grub feed as leaf miner between upper and lower epidermis , full grown larvae scrape the leaf . pupa inside the leaf .
Egg –4-5 days –> Grub –7-12 days –> Pupa –4-5 days –> Adult
Management
- Parasitized :- bracon larvae
- Predator :- assasian bug
- Clip tip parts of leaf
- Collect and destroy
- Malathian dust @25-30 kg/ha, 50% Ec @2ml/ha
