Few important facts about housing system of poultry
- Floor space: 2-2.5 square feet per bird ( layers) and 1 square feet per bird ( broiler)
- Lime application in deep litter : 500 gm/ 100 square feet.
- Super phosphate in deep liter : 1 kg/ 100 square feet.
- Feed cost represent 65-75% of total cost of commercial poultry production.
- Poultry has no lips; teeth so require a more concentrate ration.
- In laying hen, it takes 2 ½ hour for feed to go from mouth to cloaca and for no laying at least 10 hour.
- Chicken eat 2-2.5 g of water per gram of feed consumed.
- 5-2 g of water per gram of feed consumed as laying hen.
- Critical Amino acid : Lysine, Methionine, Arginine, Glycine and Tryptophan @ GyTre MLA
- Fat makes up 40 % of dry egg and 17% of dry weight of a broiler.
