Soil solarization and sterilization

a) Soil solarization:

  • 4-6 weeks solarization

 

b) Soil sterilization:

  • At 50 0C, nematode are killed.
  • 60-72 0C ,bacteria are killed.
  • 820C, bacteria and insect are killed.
  • Weeds, viruses (TMV), 95-100 0
  • Grassy shoot and red rot of sugarcane : 50 0C for 30 min.
  • Loose smut of wheat : 52 0C for 10 min.
