About Lesson
Climate
- Carrot is predominantly a cool season crop though some of the tropical types tolerate high temperature.
- An average temperature of 18 – 20 o C is considered as optimum for root development of both Asian and European types.
- Under high temperature the color of the root above the ground become green and underground part become white which indicate lack of carotene pigment development.
- 18-20 o C for root development, lack of carotene pigment at high temp, green root above ground,
Soil

- Soil pH = 6.5-7.0
